People all over the country go to Google, Yahoo, Bing, and many other search engines and put in “Discount Golf Clubs“. What are they searching for? They are searching for a deal on some brand name club that they saw the Pro’s using last Sunday afternoon.

There are other options for the everyday Golfer out there. One choice instead of looking for Discount Golf Clubs from Big Internet Golf Club retailers. is to try looking for “Clone Golf Clubs” These golf clubs are sold at discount prices but not discount quality. They are actually not discounted. The prices are for the clubs not for all the endorsements and advertising that goes into the price of a Big Brand name Golf Club.

A Golf Driver, for example, could cost you as much as $500.00. But, if you were to visit a site such as www.crosshairgolf.com you would only pay $89.00 for the average Golf Driver.

So, what I am saying is. Don’t get hung up on the equipment that all the pro’s are being paid to use. Save your money for the greens fees and get some clubs as good, if not better, than the ones you see on Sunday afternoon golf. Discount Golf Clubs Does not have to be Discount Quality

When someone is looking for used golf clubs What are they really looking for. They are looking for deep discount golf clubs.

What are you getting when you buy used golf clubs, basically you are getting golf clubs that were fit to someone else and they did not like them. You are getting someone Else’s hand-me-downs. You are looking for those golf clubs that the pro’s are playing with at a low low price. It might be time to rethink your next golf club purchase.

Clone Golf Clubs, Used Golf Clubs? Get the real deal at crosshairgolf.com they put the discount golf club prices not discount quality. Pay a little, play a lot. Your friends will think you paid a fortune. Take a look at our line of discount golf clubs.

I just read an article entitled “Should Tiger Ditch Sean Foley?” at tourgolfblog.com.

The article is more about Tiger Woods swing than his golf game in general.

If you take a look at the last few tournaments he was in, The Masters, in particular. I think you will agree that it was more his putting than his golf swing. I think Tiger will always have a decent swing and probably needs a swing coach to keep him grounded and in control.

If Tiger Woods wants to start winning tournaments he needs to get back on the putting green and start draining some of those 30 footers we know and love to watch.

Note to Tiger: Putt, Putt, Putt.

How many times have you gone out for a round of golf only to find that you need to borrow a sleeve of balls from you buddy. How about plaing the round without a glove or getting rained on. Well I have done it many times and now I have a checklist that I go through just like a shopping list and I never miss anything.

Keep this list any way that will be easiest for you. I keep mine on a clipboard but will probably put in on my cell phone because I always have that with me.

First, Make sure you have plenty of balls, especially if you are playing a course with a lot of “Wild life” off limits area, they are like a magnet to golf shots.

Second, Divot repair tool and ball marker. Every time you walk onto the green you will have to fix you divot and mark your ball, so make sure you have these 2 things. They should always be in your bag anyway.

Third, Golf Glove. I can not tell you how many times I get to the first tee and realize that my golf glove is in my car because I put it on the passenger seat the last time I played. I now have several gloves so I always have them. Also try to carry a pair of foul weather golf gloves. They sure come in handy with a cold dirzzle falling.

Fourth, Golf Shoes. If you take them in the house to clean them after a round of golf, put them back with your golf clubs so you do not forget them next time, of course, they will be on the checklist you are making.

Fifth, Rain Gear. Never trust the weatherman. Pack some rain gear.

Sixth, Sweater, Vest, Windbreaker. These items fold up pretty small and can fit nicely into a pocket on your golf bag. You never know when the temp might drop or the wind picks up, You will always play better when you are comfortable.

Seventh, Snacks. It takes 4+ hours to play a round of golf, have a few snacks. Power Bars, Fruit, Nuts, Water or Gatorade.

Eighth, Money. You should always have a few bucks especially when the cool refreshing beverage cart rolls up.

Nineth, Push cart. This is otional. I keep one in my car just in case the people I am golfing with want to walk. Have you ever used the ones they rent at most golf courses. My bag never stays on.

Tenth, Tees. I always have tees. I have 2 different sizes, large tees for my driver and smaller for fairway woods and Irons.

That is about it that I can think of. You might have more or less. One thing I would reccomend is, if you don’t already have one is a Cart Bag. Even if I walk, I never carry my bag so why do I need a stand bag. A cart bag has so much more room to carry things. You will not be disappointed.

How many times do you go to the driving range to work on your golf game and end up not gaining anything from the experience.

Sometimes you just take out your driver and see how far you can drive with no rhyme or reason other than “How far can I hit this thing”

Here are 10 tips to make your driving range experience a bit more productive.

Find a driving range where you can hit off the ground using your own tees. Lets face it, when you play a round of golf you do not hit off a huge round piece of pipe attached to some artificial turf on a plywood platform.

If the Driving range has 2 levels, do not go to the top level. Your accuracy and distance will be off.

Use the putting green. Remember you drive for show and putt for dough. The putter is the only golf club used on every hole. Practice, Practice, Practice.

Use all your golf clubs. Don’t just take the Golf Driver, you have 13 other clubs and you need to know them. You should know how far you hit each club, off a tee and off the ground. This is valuable information

Do not hit golf balls in rapid fire. How many times do you see people go through a large bucket of balls in 15 minutes. If you ever watch the pro’s warming up they Hit, Watch and then Adjust.

Go alone. If you are serious about a practice session you should not be with your buddies. You do not need unwanted and unnecessary information.

Wear your golf shoes. practice as you would play.

Learn the distance of each club. People do not realize how important this is. no abouts, about it. know to the yard how far you hit each club. Ask a pro how far they hit their 5 wood and they will tell you exactly. 183 yards, not 180 or 185

Pick a target. Most driving ranges have multiple flags, markers, traps and whatnot scattered throughout the range. Use these to your advantage. Distance markers are obvious, but ask what the distance to the golf flags are and fine tune your mid and short game.

Have fun, there is a lot to learn and practice so try and make it fun for yourself.

Bonus tip. Take a lesson. Most driving ranges have pro’s or semi pro’s available for lessons. You will not believe how far you can take your game with a few lessons.

Learn the game of golf step by step and enjoy it for a lifetime.

Can Tiger Woods find his mojo again?

Tiger Woods has lost his MOJO. For years Tiger Woods has dominated the world of professional golf, not anymore. One of the major reasons for this domination was his mojo, his fear factor. Course by course, fairway by fairway, Tiger eliminated the competion. As hard as the competition tried to stay calm and composed the mojo would push that easy shot into the woods turning a simple Birdie or Par hole into a double bogey costing the tournament.

Was it a “Hot” new player that brought Tiger to mediocrity? No. Was it an injury? No. It was himself. It was self destruction. It was a personal life gone awry.

Will Tiger Woods win again? I think so. Will he win another major? I think so. Will he dominate golf again? I don’t think so. It is like I said at the beginning of this post, golfers no longer fear him. Tiger Woods is just another player on tour. He will probably dominate off course earnings, but that will probably fall as young, hungry golfers climb to the top. Take a look at Jhonny Vegas.

If Tiger steps back, re-orgaizes his life, gets himself grounded and 100% focus on his natural ability, and does this in the next few years, he could regain some of his mojo. Maybe he can’t get back tow here he was, but a run of wins will cause the competition do second guess themselves and feel that fear again.

I do not see the domination coming back. I see Tiger Woods as just another good player on tour. I could be wrong and I usually am.

This little bit of information could be the difference between a good and fun round and a frustrating miserable afternoon

Should I look at the USGA course rating and Slope rating? Yes. This little bit of information could be the difference between a good and fun round and a frustrating miserable afternoon.

What is the course and slope rating. The short answer is that the U.S.G.A. course and slope rating is the number of strokes it will take a golfer to finish the round. The course rating is the number for a scratch golfer and the slope is the number for a bogey golfer. A bogey golfer is considered someone with a handicap between 17.5 to 22.4 and hits his drives 200 yards, and a female golfer with a handicap of 21.5 to 26.4 who hits her drives 150 yards. There are other factors that go into the rating and slope and we will discuss this in a future post, for now these are just the basics.

So, why is this important to a golfer? It is important because it tells us what our “expected” score for 9 or 18 holes will be from the different tee’s. The rating also plays a part in figuring our handicap. For example, if 2 golfers consistantly score 92′s at their respective courses, but 1 golfers slope is 91 and the others is 102, the golfer who plays at the course with a slope of 91 will have a higher handicap than the one with the slope of 102.
